Guided River Walk (Ojai, CA)
WHEN
Saturday, July 11, 2026
10:00 am - 12:00 pm (America/Los_Angeles)
WHO CAN JOIN
Join us for a casual morning river walk through the beautiful Ventura River Preserve in Ojai, led by Harvest Ojai Chapter Director D. Lisa West.
We’ll meet at the Oso Trailhead on Meyer Road at 10:00 AM sharp and spend two hours exploring one of Ojai’s most ecologically significant natural areas. This easy-to-moderate walk is designed for women who want to enjoy meaningful conversation, connect with nature, learn something new, and get a few steps in along the way.
Located on the west side of the Ojai Valley, the Ventura River Preserve protects three miles of the Ventura River and the surrounding canyons, grasslands, and chaparral-covered hillsides. Once part of the historic Rancho El Nido ranch, this remarkable landscape remains largely untouched and provides habitat for more than 300 plant and animal species. The preserve also plays an important role in protecting the Ventura River watershed, the sole water source for the Ojai Valley.
As we walk, D. Lisa will share her knowledge of local native plants, their traditional uses, and the unique ecology that makes this area so special. Expect a relaxed pace, thoughtful conversation, and plenty of opportunities to appreciate the beauty of the Ojai landscape.
Whether you’re new to Harvest or already part of the community, you’re warmly invited to join us. Come as you are, meet other thoughtful women, enjoy the fresh air, and spend a morning reconnecting with nature and one another.
