We will hike the beautiful Sulphur Mountain trail in Ventura. Our gently sloping route will be approximately 6 miles with about 1000’ of elevation. This conditioning hike goes up the Sulphur Mountain fire road, through petroleum-scented oak forest, past cattle grazing ranch land, and reaches the overlook above the town of Oak View. We’ll have spectacular views of the Ojai Valley, Lake Casitas, and the mountains to the north.

This hike is a great workout. It is 3 miles up and 3 miles down and back with some shade along the way. It’s a dirt fire road with tight switchbacks and fantastic views of the Ojai Valley and surrounding mountain ranges. Nature lovers will enjoy a variety of wildlife.

Lunch afterward, TBD. Restaurant options may or may not be dog friendly.

Bring water, hat, and sunscreen. Well-behaved dogs on a short leash allowed. No bathroom facilities.
